Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Mix-Ins
  • 1 cup peeled and diced apples Choose sweet varieties like Fuji or Honeycrisp
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans Can be substituted with walnuts or almonds

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter and mix in brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in the diced apples and chopped pecans.
  7. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow to cool before cutting into squares to serve.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. You can add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for an extra special kick.
