  • 4 oz apple cider Use fresh apple cider for best flavor.
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice Freshly squeezed is recommended.
  • 1/2 oz maple syrup or honey Adjust based on sweetness preference.
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon or 1 cinnamon stick
  • Ice For the chilled version.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a shaker, combine the bourbon, apple cider, fresh lemon juice, and your choice of sweetener.
  2. For a chilled version, add ice and shake well. For a warm version, heat the mixture in a saucepan until warmed through.
  3. Strain your drink into a glass and garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a slice of apple.

Notes

This drink can be served chilled or warm. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat on the stove or enjoy cold. Variations can include using spiced rum instead of bourbon or agave syrup instead of honey for a vegan option.
