Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a big bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and 1/4 cup granulated sugar until well mixed.
- In another bowl, combine flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, remaining granulated sugar, salt, and softened butter until the mixture is crumbly.
- Press half of the oat mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Layer the apple mixture evenly on top of the crust.
- Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture over the apples.
Baking
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
- Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature; you can top with ice cream, drizzle with caramel, or sprinkle with nuts for added flavor.
