Cinnamon Apples
- In a bowl, toss the diced apples with granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
Crumble
- In a separate bowl, mix the 120 g of flour, dark brown sugar, and 1 tsp of ground cinnamon.
- Cut in 85 g butter until crumbly. Chill this mix while you prep the cake.
Vanilla Cinnamon Cake
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking dish.
- In a large bowl, cream together 125 g butter and 225 g granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add your 3 eggs, sour cream, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together 340 g flour, ½ tsp cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add it to the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Gently fold in your cinnamon apples.
Maple Glaze
- Whisk together 125 g powdered sugar, 1 tbsp maple syrup, 1 tsp sour cream, and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract.
- Add water until you reach your desired consistency.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature with a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Pair it with vanilla ice cream for a delightful treat.
