Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the finely diced apple.
Baking
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
- Mix topping sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the batter.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes until edges are golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool completely before cutting.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature. For an extra kick, drizzle with caramel sauce or add vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days at room temperature or up to a week in the fridge.
