Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread the apple pie filling evenly.
- Sprinkle ground cinnamon over the apple filling.
- Evenly pour the dry cake mix over the apple pie filling. Do not stir.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the dry cake mix.
- Pour caramel sauce on top and sprinkle with crushed nuts, if using.
Baking
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
Serving
- Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
Notes
Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 5 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving. For variations, try using cherry or peach filling, or a spice cake mix.
