Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F or your air fryer to 350°F.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon.
- Slice the tops off each apple and core them, stopping before the bottom.
- Place the apple cut-side down and make thin crosswise slices, being careful not to cut all the way through the bottom.
- Fill each apple with two caramel squares, then brush the melted butter mixture all over the top and in the crevices.
Baking
- For the oven: Place in a greased baking dish and bake until tender, about 30 minutes.
- For the air fryer: Place in the basket and bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes.
Serving
- Serve warm apples immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle of caramel sauce.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave.
