Ingredients
  

For the apples
  • 4 pieces Apples (firm, crisp variety like Honeycrisp) Choose firm varieties for the best texture.
  • 8 pieces Chewy Caramel Squares Use your favorite brand.
For the mixture
  • 4 Tbsp Melted Butter This will enhance the flavor and help with browning.
  • 1 Tbsp Packed Brown Sugar Adds a nice depth of flavor.
  • 1 Tbsp Granulated Sugar To sweeten the apples.
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon For a warm, aromatic flavor.
For serving
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Ice Cream Delicious when served warm with apples.
  • Caramel Sauce For drizzling on top.
Other
  • Cooking Spray To grease the baking dish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F or your air fryer to 350°F.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Slice the tops off each apple and core them, stopping before the bottom.
  4. Place the apple cut-side down and make thin crosswise slices, being careful not to cut all the way through the bottom.
  5. Fill each apple with two caramel squares, then brush the melted butter mixture all over the top and in the crevices.
Baking
  1. For the oven: Place in a greased baking dish and bake until tender, about 30 minutes.
  2. For the air fryer: Place in the basket and bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes.
Serving
  1. Serve warm apples immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle of caramel sauce.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave.
