Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 lbs beef steak (cut into bite-sized pieces) Use your preferred cut of beef.
  • 1 lb baby potatoes (halved) These should be halved for even cooking.
  • 4 tablespoons garlic (minced) Fresh garlic gives the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup butter Use unsalted butter for better control over seasoning.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust according to your preference.
Optional Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme Optional for added flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Optional for a little extra spice.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a slow cooker, add the beef bites and halved baby potatoes.
  2. In a small pan, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Pour the garlic butter over the beef and potatoes in the slow cooker.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, thyme, and paprika if using.
  5. Stir to combine, cover, and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the beef and potatoes are tender.

Notes

Cut the beef into uniform pieces for even cooking. Substitute chicken or turkey for a lighter twist, or add diced carrots or peas for nutrition. Use half beef broth for richer flavor.
