  • 2 oz spiced rum
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • to taste Hot water

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a heat-proof mug, combine the spiced rum, unsalted butter, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and vanilla extract.
  2. Stir until the butter and sugar are well blended for a smooth mix.
  3. Top with hot water and stir again until it’s all combined.
  4. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.
  5. Serve warm and enjoy by the fire!

Notes

For a vegan version, swap the butter with vegan margarine. You can also create a non-alcoholic version using apple cider.
