Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set it aside.
- In another bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until fluffy.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until combined.
- Press half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared dish.
- In a separate bowl, toss the sliced apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Layer the apple mixture over the dough.
- Crumble the remaining dough over the apples, then sprinkle oats on top.
Baking
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Allow the bars to cool before cutting them into squares.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature, preferably with vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container for 3-5 days at room temperature or up to a week in the fridge.
