Ingredients
  

For the cocktail
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 1 medium lemon)
  • 1 oz lavender simple syrup See below for recipe
  • 1/2 oz triple sec (or orange liqueur)
  • Ice (enough to fill the shaker halfway)
  • Granulated sugar (for rimming the glass)
  • Fresh lavender sprig or lemon twist (for garnish)
For the lavender simple syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp dried culinary lavender

Method
 

Make the Lavender Simple Syrup
  1. In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, and dried lavender.
  2. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat and let steep for 15 minutes. Strain into a container and let cool completely.
Prepare the Cocktail
  1. Rub a lemon wedge around the rim of a chilled martini glass.
  2. Dip the rim into a shallow plate of granulated sugar to coat evenly.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, add vodka, lemon juice, lavender simple syrup, and triple sec.
  4. Fill the shaker halfway with ice.
  5. Shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds until thoroughly mixed and chilled.
  6. Use a cocktail strainer to pour the mixture into the prepared martini glass.
  7. Garnish with a fresh lavender sprig or a lemon twist.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

Consider using agave syrup for a twist on sweetness. Add a splash of blueberry juice for extra flavor. Use gin instead of vodka for a botanical twist.
